I am making a gift for my wife and using a bunch of scrap. I got a stick of this at a garage sale a year ago and still do not know what it is.

 

From Left to right

<span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>White oak, </span><span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>Purple heart,</span><span style=”line-height: 1.5;”> </span><span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>Unknown wood, </span><span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>White oak, </span><span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>Unknown wood, </span><span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>Purple heart, </span><span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>White oak, </span><span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>Mahogany, Unknown wood,</span>

Any ideas what the Unknown wood is? it is almost as hard as the <span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>Purple heart and feels ferry </span>slimier<span style=”line-height: 1.5;”> with a hand plane.</span>

I think you are asking about the last one on the right. It looks like Bubinga, but it hard to tell.
