    These one has a rounded iron at top ( not angled) and is much thicker than others.

      iron thickness

      This iron is much thicker than all the other blades I have seen. It is also shaped differently. At the top of the iron it does not angle in as others do, is squared off at the top of the blade but the corners are rounded. I seem to recall that Stanley made a thicker blade ,but only for a short time. Just looking for some confirmation on this.

      Thicker iron

      It sounds to me like the plane has a replacement iron made by Ron Hock. I have a couple of Hock irons, and that describes how both of them are shaped.
