I recently bought a box of 10 Stanley planes for $10 they are all missing at least one part. (plate from frog adjuster, tote, mouth adjustment knob, brass knob on tote, Etc.) where do you find parts most often?

      Hi James,

Wow. Sounds like you hit the jackpot. You can find them online but they are always high. I will buy up un-restorable planes for parts and I sometimes will come across another tool fanatic’s parts stash in an estate sale. There were  lot of Stanley clones produced after the original patents ran out and many of the parts are interchangeable. I have already looked through my parts for a mouth adjuster for that block plane of yours with no luck. I may have a part or two in the pile if you will send me a list.

      Have fun.

      Hi again James,

I went back to look at my parts bin. Do you know what style of brass tote nut you need? The one used on the front knob should be the same on the tote. Message me on where you want them sent if you still need them. I might be able to fabricate a new tote adjustment plate too.

      Have fun.P1040817
