I saw this heavily Modified Stanley 192 and at first I was sad that some one would destroy a plane like that. but then I realized that the plane had seen a lot of use in that modified condition. someone had to give this tool a home and show it some love. so I got it and cleaned it up, and honestly it works rather well.

      Hi James,

I see you have painted it with your official shop color. Craftsmen have the habit of modifying their tools to match their needs. At lease it should help you get that rabbet cut in the coffee table project. You could clamp a strip of wood on the side of the plane to at as a depth stop for it.

      Have fun.

It made quick work of those rabbets. I am liking it and I see that the previous owner went to great depths to do the modifications on this. it is surprisingly good quality work on it and a tool that I will enjoy for many years.
